1990

NAMA was founded in Athens in February 21 1990 in anticipation of the growing demand of infrastructure projects in Greece. Our first activities revolved around the water cycle and thus the name was selected. In Greek, the word "NAMA" means the running water of a spring or river. The Danish company Carl Bro, now acquired by Sweco Group, initially participated in the shareholder base.

1992

Even from its very first steps, NAMA was one of the leading firms to introduce new technologies in Greece. In 1992, we participated in the SPRINT program that aimed at the transfer of technical knowledge for the control of water supply network leakages.

1995

NAMA is one of the first companies involved in the project of the National Cadastre of Greece. The first relevant contract was signed in 1995.

1997

Carl Bro decides to divest from NAMA and sells its shares to the founders as well as new partners. Since then, NAMA is fully owned by Greek shareholders.

2001

2004

The firm contributed significantly in the development of the infrastructure supporting the Olympic Games ATHENS 2004. However, that year is also remembered for the passing of one of our founder and most active members of the company. Giannis Tselentis passed away at the age of 49 after an uneven fight for life on August 28, 2004.

The Laboratory of Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials & Quality Control NAMALAB SA commences its operation with the participation of NAMA in the shareholder base.

2018

Another dark year for NAMA as we lose another of our founders and directors. George Kazos passed away on October 7, 2018.
