The climate has changed

Infrastructure
must adapt.

Engineering must respond
to a changed world.

The baseline of infrastructure design has shifted permanently. Rising mean temperatures, intensifying precipitation, accelerating coastal flooding, and increased frequency of extreme hydrological events are no longer tail risks, they are engineering parameters that must be embedded at the design origin and not treated as afterthoughts.

NAMA stands at the forefront of this global effort, providing innovative resilience and climate adaptation solutions that protect communities, extend infrastructure lifespan, and secure water resources.

Climate Risk is
Infrastructure Risk

A structure engineered to a historical 100-year flood return period may face that event every 30 years by 2060. Every design decision made without accounting for this shift transfers a liability to the next generation.

How we Build Climate Resilience

Design for the future, not the past

We size and stress-test infrastructure against tomorrow's climate - bigger floods, higher seas, hotter summers, deeper droughts - so it performs across its full life.

  • Flood and rainfall levels based on future projections
  • Sea-level rise and coastal flooding modelling
  • Extreme heat and urban overheating analysis
  • Water infrastructure sized for drought

Low-Carbon Construction

Cutting the carbon in what we build is part of the design, not an afterthought. We measure it early and choose materials and methods that bring it down.

  • Whole-life carbon measured from the first concept
  • Low-carbon and greener materials
  • Designing for reuse and a longer second life
  • Tracking emissions during construction

Built to Last

The most sustainable structure is the one that lasts. We design for long service lives and for easy adaptation later, so assets keep delivering value for generations.

  • Service lives of 100-plus years for critical structures
  • Extra protection against corrosion and climate wear
  • Whole-life cost planning
  • Room to upgrade and retrofit as needs change

Working with Nature

Infrastructure that works with natural systems is often cheaper, greener and more resilient. We bring nature into projects wherever it makes sense.

  • Nature-based solutions; wetlands, bioswales, green roofs
  • Green crossings and safe passage for wildlife
  • Biodiversity built into environmental assessment
  • Greening and shade to cool towns and cities

Water Security

Designing for a Drier Future

While floods make the headlines, drought is the slower, quieter crisis and the Mediterranean is on the front line. Hotter summers, thinner winter rainfall and longer dry spells are shrinking reservoirs and groundwater, just as demand from cities, farming and tourism climbs. Many Greek islands already run short every summer.

Water security is climate adaptation. We help authorities and utilities keep clean, reliable water flowing through drier years, by making every drop go further and by building supply that can stand up to a changing climate.

What we do

  • Plan supply and demand for a drier climate
  • Cut losses; reducing leakage and waste across the network
  • Reuse and recycle; treated wastewater and greywater for irrigation and industry
  • Store and capture; reservoirs, aquifer recharge and rainwater harvesting
  • Desalination where it's the right answer, designed to run efficiently
  • Smart networks; monitoring and controls that catch problems early using Digital Twins and AI

Who we Help

National and regional government

Climate risk assessments, adaptation plans and resilient infrastructure strategy that stand up to scrutiny from regulators and funders.

Transport and infrastructure operators

Protecting roads, railways, ports and networks against flooding, heat and extreme weather - and keeping them open when it counts.

Cities and regions

Cooler, greener, better-drained places, planned and engineered for the climate ahead.

Water and utilities

Securing supply through drought, cutting losses across the network, and managing flood and stormwater risk.

How we Work With You

1Understand

We assess the climate risks your assets and communities actually face, from a fast first screening to detailed, numbers-based analysis.

2Plan

We set out clear, affordable adaptation measures, staged so you invest when you need to, not before.

3Deliver

We design and engineer the solutions, drawing on decades of infrastructure experience to turn plans into built reality.
